DAY 01: ARRIVE DIBRUGARH
Arrive in Dibrugarh by air/rail and assemble in the pre designated hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 02: DIBRUGARH - PASIGHAT
Post breakfast, a 2-hour local ferry across the braided flow of the Brahmaputra awaits us. Keep an eye out for freshwater dolphin during the winter months! After reaching the other side of the Brahmaputra, we transfer to a bus for the journey to Arunachal Pradesh border post. There we clear entry with our Restricted Area Permits, and continue on to reach our hotel in Pasighat by early afternoon. The afternoon is free to explore Pasighat traditional market, buy souvenirs, and explore.
DAY 03: PASIGHAT – JEGGING
Leaving our hotel at 7 AM, we stop at a Hindu temple for a traditional blessing before starting the journey to put-in by private jeep. We break up the 8-hour drive through the foothills of the Himalayas with scenic viewpoint stops, a visit to a traditional bamboo bridge, and a lunch at the restaurant in the Adi tribal village of Kebang. Arriving at Jinjing around 4 PM, a small rest house for the night and serving delicious traditional meal for the dinner.
DAY 04: JEGGING – NINGING
We leave the rest house after breakfast at 8 AM, 8- hour drive to put in point; we make a stop for lunch on the way. Arriving at our put-in near Ninging around 4 PM, we meet our advanced team staff that has kindly prepared our beach camp for us. A delicious welcome dinner starts at 6 PM. Overnight at the camp.
DAY 05: RELAXATION DAY
A layover day and a short drive to Tuting, last town in Indian side of the border, civilians and foreign nationals aren’t allowed to go any further. After lunch a detailed safety briefing, and camping instructions by the trip leader. Overnight at camp.
DAY 06: NINGING – PANGO
We start our day with early breakfast at 7 AM and soon we start to pack up the camp and load our gear boats and we set to go rafting, around an hour of floating we reach at Palsi rapid (Class IV), with massive waves and we scout for way down the rapid. After another hour of floating we are at our campsite for the night.
DAY 07: PANGO – CHERRING
Today we paddle from Pango to Cherring. Our day on the river starts with the enormous Pango rapid and we enter the Ninguing and Marmong canyon. Discover a land virtually untouched by civilization and enjoy the experience of being in one of the world’s most remote jungle canyons. The virgin forests that surround us create the perfect setting for the exhilarating Rikor and Zebra Rock rapids. We set up the camp at Cherring just above the Toothfairy (Class VI) rapid.
DAY 08: CHERRING – RAMSINGH
An early starts today as we walk around the ‘Tooth fairy’ rapid and we make our way out of the Marmong gorge. We encounter and negotiate several Class IV rapids such as the Hairy Hari, Broken Oar and many more. Set up camp below Ramsingh.
DAY 09: RAMSINGH – GEKU
We start the day on the river with an easy float till Moying Madness rapid that is sure to get your adrenalin pumping on as it is a Class IV+ rapid. The section below is comparatively mellow, till we reach Nubo where we negotiate the Karo Killer rapid, which is our last rapid for the day. We set up the camp at Geku. Enjoy evening stories as we sit around the campfire.
DAY 10: RELAXATION DAY
Today we have an easy morning to enjoy the gushing sounds of the river inside our sleeping bag, a day on the beach to relax your muscles or to go kayaking or a hike and discover the tribal lifestyle and culture.
DAY 11: GEKU – ROTUNG
Today we have a long float as we pass by many Adi tribal settlements. We also pass by the confluence of the Bramhaputra and Siyom rivers. We reach Rotung our next campsite
DAY 12: ROTUNG – PASIGHAT
Today we paddle from Rotung to Pasighat. The last white water section on the Brahmaputra before the river gets into the plains. The river banks get wider, and we see the how different it gets than what we have seen in last days. We pull out at Pasigaht and a short drive to hotel. In-town options for women include a massage at the “Women’s Salon” next door, or a shave and head massage for men at the local barber. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 13: PASIGHAT – DIBRUGARH
We wake up early this morning to catch a 5-hour, downstream ferry from Pasighat to Dibrugarh. Breakfast is at 6:15 AM and we take along a packed lunch, snacks, and water bottles to accompany us on the journey. After a 30-minute drive through Arunachal tribal villages, we reach the ferry terminal. On the ferry, we travel with local families making their way to Dibrugarh as well. Arrive in Dibrugarh and overnight stay in a hotel.
DAY 14: DEPARTURE FROM DIBRUGARH
Post breakfast, checkout from the hotel and depart for your onward destination.
